APPLY TO JOIN BE ↗Becoming Excellence is built for students who are committed to becoming stronger—not students expected to have everything figured out already.
Build the professional, academic, personal, and real-world skills that move you forward.
Build relationships, community, and a network of students committed to growth.
Open members-only resources, opportunities, events, and experiences in one place.
Take part in organized service that creates a positive impact beyond yourself.
Your first-semester membership gives you access to the BE member experience.
Come ready to learn, contribute, and help build a community rooted in respect.
Members are expected to act in a way that reflects positively on themselves, Becoming Excellence, and Troy University.
Treat others with dignity. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, and repeated disruptive behavior are not accepted.
BE is a place for improvement. Members should be willing to learn, accept constructive feedback, and work toward better choices.
Do not share private messages, personal information, or sensitive organization matters without permission.
Members must follow Troy University rules and any policies that apply to student organizations and campus activities.
Address concerns calmly and privately with the appropriate leader. Public arguments, online drama, retaliation, and disrespect are unacceptable.
Attend meetings, programs, and service events when reasonably able. If you cannot attend, communicate as early as possible.
Complete at least 5 verified community-service hours each semester through BE or another approved activity.
Check the BE member portal and your email for announcements, reminders, and schedule changes.
Be prepared to help with events, service projects, recruitment, and other reasonable member responsibilities.
Members should respond to important BE messages and notify leadership when they cannot meet a commitment. Repeated absences or missed responsibilities without communication may lead to an accountability conversation.
First-semester membership dues are $25. Returning-member dues are $20 each semester. Dues are paid only after approval.
Financial hardship should never be embarrassing. Contact the Treasurer privately through BE leadership before the deadline to discuss a payment arrangement or hardship waiver.
Serious conduct may move directly to a membership review. The member will receive a written explanation and an opportunity to respond before a final decision.
By submitting a membership application, I confirm that I have read and understand these expectations. I agree to represent Becoming Excellence with integrity, respect other members, complete the service requirement, communicate responsibly, and accept fair accountability when necessary.
Complete one short form. Your response is saved securely for BE leadership to review.
