BE PRIVACY NOTICE · EFFECTIVE AUGUST 19, 2026

YOUR INFORMATION.
HANDLED WITH CARE.

This notice explains what Becoming Excellence collects through its website and member platform, why we collect it, and the choices students have.

THE QUICK VERSION

We collect only the information needed to run membership, events, service, leadership, and member records.

Information is limited to authorized BE leadership, the organization’s advisor when appropriate, and service providers that keep the platform operating.

BE does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

01

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, BE may collect your name, email, phone number, major, classification, expected graduation year, membership responses, leadership interests, event registrations, accommodation requests, service activity, attendance, dues amount and payment status, and information you choose to include in messages.

Member sign-in may provide your account email and display name. BE does not collect payment-card or bank-account information through this website.

02

How we use it

BE uses information to review applications, communicate with students, manage membership, plan events and accommodations, coordinate service, maintain attendance and dues records, support leadership selection, provide member resources, and protect the website and organization.

03

Who can access it

Access is limited by role to authorized BE officers, designated website administrators, and the organization’s advisor when appropriate. Hosting, authentication, storage, and email providers may process information only to operate those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or a valid University process.

Submitting a form does not give BE permission to publish your personal information or photograph. Public executive profiles and event media require a separate decision or permission.

04

Retention and protection

BE keeps records only as long as reasonably needed for organization operations, leadership transitions, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or applicable requirements. Leadership should review records at the end of each academic year and remove information that is no longer needed.

BE uses access controls and private administrative areas to reduce unauthorized access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so students should avoid submitting sensitive information that a form does not request.

05

Your choices

You may ask to review, correct, or delete information that BE controls by emailing betroy2026@gmail.com. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate operational, safety, financial, University, or legal reasons. You may also opt out of nonessential communications.
